Delayed Ripples pt. 32
Altus POV: Despite how they both disliked it, Armida and Altus had to join them for breakfast the following day. Though Altus was slightly glad that Armida had successfully snuck him away after Belinda had dinner, back to the Basilius castle. It had given him the reprieve from his mother and… that other leader. His mother glared at him through some of breakfast, mostly talking with Belinda and Jonathan. Altus spent most of his time looking towards his old home, though the trees blocked the view he could still follow the path back in his mind. Armida seemed intent on displaying his dislike of Jonathan but with enough caution that his mother wasn’t able to rebuke him. Which consisted of long side glares, his eyes remaining mostly red and seeming quite possessive over Altus. That included answering questions for him, making it so the man couldn’t come within a certain space and more glares. Altus was also a little glad for that action

Altus POV:
Altus didn’t sleep, or at least when he tried, he didn’t stay asleep long, the memory coming back.
His mother was at his side, stroking his hair back out of his face and murmuring quietly. He leaned into her touch, but couldn’t bring himself to explain it.
………………
By morning, even early, the naga had returned, Armida looking a little more irritated than he had been yesterday. His eyes swept over the camp and those gathered before they stopped on Altus.
Altus walked over and greeted them both, “I suspect it took a little coxing to get

“When did you rediscover your ability to speak?” Edana asked quietly as they sat in a tent, the nagas having returned to the castle. To make the humans more at ease, they had spoken plenty of the treaty with the naga themselves. Now Edana had pulled Altus away to confront him.
“Just then.” He responded softly leaning back against the table, his leg aching something ferocious. His nerves had been frayed since the dream and had only grown worse in the presence of his mother and…. Those colors. The same colors of the worn and tattered uniform of the soldier who killed his brother. He closed

“Altus!” Armida shouted seeming right into his ears.
His eyelids struggled to open, but eventually he won and found Armida’s concerned expression leaning over him. He pushed the hand away, lightly shaking.
“Altus?” Armida tried softer.
Altus sat up carefully, and wiped the wetness on his face, he recalled the memory, then the dream. So tears… He sighed.
“Are you alright?” Armida asked quietly.
Altus looked to him and nodded slowly.
“Bad dream?” he asked.
He nodded again,

Altus POV:
The conversation stopped when Armida entered the room looking flustered with his eyes wide and face red from his rush.
“Armida?” Belinda inquired lightly, “What are you doing?”
Armida simply moved to the table and set Altus down, a bit clumsily before nearly shouting. “He’s sick! Or something.” His voice dropped lower as the blush on his face increased.
Altus’ feet touched the surface of the table a brief moment before his leg gave out and he fell onto his side. He laid there a moment before tucking his legs underneath him and adjust

Altus POV:
Armida had insisted on staying in the same room, in case of any assassins, but in this case it seemed more like he was trying to apologize for all the time he had been absent.
It riled the anger in Altus, allowing the grief and blame to be chased away as long as Armida remained present. And he didn’t allow himself to be absent long.
He knew that it would come down to something like this, given how his stature differed so much from theirs. That he would have to deal with bathing in something more akin to his size, he just didn’t expect it to be a wash basin, similar to the one he sh

Edana POV:
Edana paused in looking over the paperwork required for finishing the treaty, the new treaty between their lands. The people required a new section since the nagas had become Edana’s allies, and since they shared some of their military, this country required some new rules about them. And some aid if it could be procured again.
She shook her head; she should have realized that this would also be the outcome of that decision, though it didn’t seem that the news had spread…. Yet.

He felt like he was in a swamp, the air heavy and warm. His body was sluggish and his clothes clung to him as if the humidity in the air was making them so. But apparently it was just how the large fabric was wrapped around him. And that his heavy sweating was making it cling.
His eyes opened with some difficulty, but eventually they yielded enough for him to see out of them. He was in Armida’s room, he could tell first by the pacing naga at the far side of the room. He probably would have screamed out in frustration if he could use his vocal cords. And the cuts along his knuckles wouldn’t let him hit something to release the pent up emotion.
Armida’s father was still attempting to hand Cato over to him, but he seemed to have gotten the hint when Altus directed a scowl his way.

I do mainly writing, if you could not tell. I do not have anything officially published and not I am sure I am going to get anything published. I have written a lot of novellas and close to novel length stories. But a lot of them have never been read by anyone else. (At least in full length.) I do not have much experience in having a responsive audience. So any feedback or tips are wonderful. I look forward to writing more and having people enjoy reading it.
Hey, it's been a while.
I'm going to be heading back to school in less than a week. I believe I'll be able to keep updating Delayed Ripples, at least until I catch up to where I'm currently writing it. Or until I find myself disliking what I've already written.
As for other projects, most of my writing has been put on halt. I don't believe that until I get a great break from school or I am completely done with it, that I will start working on those again.
So that means even more delay with requests. Watching with quirks. Monster menu poems. 30 day challenge. And other prompts.
Anyway, see you all at the end of the mess that is school!
I am going to be heading back to school soon, so I'll actually have an excuse for not doing much with writing. Or at least not posting anything.
But lately I have begun to work on GID again. I've typed nearly three chapters in the past couple of days, and I might get to posting them in another few after some editing.
(This of course is after some long cringes at either the writing or content.)
As for other writing works. I have been typing a lot of the sequel to Forced Marriage. I am still fighting with some of the main plot points, as far as how intertwined it is with the story. And if people would read it or not.
The main things I'm fig
I am back at school for another painful semester. And my classes are definitely attempting to murder me this time.
That would be why this life update has been delayed and I have not gotten much posted besides the generally regular updates of Forced Marriage. (Which is finally finished! Thank goodness for that!)
If you do not know what that is.... Here is a link:
I am currently working on a sequel, with a few... bumps. Trying to decide if some of the ideas I have are logical or entertaining to anyone but me.
There are a few other side stories, of forced marriage, that I may post here. One is finished, but not edited, so it is highly likely
Congrats on graduating! I'm still working on that. And also good luck with job hunting! Looks like ya guys are definitely keeping up with posting new drawings! It's always fun and cool to see ya's stuff. (I really need to comment more on them. Sorry.)
